Ryne Johnson, D.M.D.
Ryne S. Johnson, DMD – Prosthodontist graduated from Brown University, where he received his bachelor of arts degree and captained the baseball team as its catcher. He received his doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He received a Certificate in Prosthodontics from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where he finished top of his class.
Dr. Johnson is the founder and director of Newton Wellesley Dental Partners, a collaborative practice with offices in Newton & Wellesley. He has practiced cosmetic, prosthetic and implant dentistry since 1986 and has been regarded as a pioneer in CAD/CAM dentistry and has worked on some of Boston’s most prominent television, radio, political and business professionals. He is the ‘go-to’ dentist for many of Boston’s high-fashion and professional sports figures. He is perennially selected as one of the ‘Top Dentists in America’ by the Research Council of America.
Considered a pioneer in computer assisted implant dentistry, Dr. Johnson delivered his first implant case, using a computer generated model, in 1988. Since then, he has participated in countless implant-focused symposiums and has developed a systematic approach to implant therapy which incorporates CAD/CAM data, CT Scans, computer planning and custom placement-jigs so that dentistry can be placed on the same day implants are placed. He is recognized as a national figure in the development and enhancement of this revolutionary approach.
In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Johnson has served as a clinical professor at both Boston University and Tufts University Schools of Dental Medicine, in their postdoctoral department of prosthodontics. He has served as the Chief Dental Surgeon for the 143d Medical Squadron of the Rhode Island Air National Guard. He has served as a member of a local Board of Health.
He is a member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the International Congress of Oral Implantology, the American Society of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Massachusetts Dental Society. He has lectured nationally on many topics within his field of expertise.
He and his wife Donna live in Boston and have two children (Alexandra & Zakare). They and are active in many local, philanthropic organizations that range from school groups, athletic organizations, and healthcare initiatives to historic preservation. Dr. Johnson is an avid photographer and chef. In his spare time, he enjoys playing squash, traveling and fly fishing. Alex was the soccer goalie and graduated with her undergraduate and masters degrees from Boston College and Zak is currently working in the cutting edge field of computer-designed dental ceramics.

Sam Shamardi, D.M.D.
Dr. Sam Shamardi was born in Malaga, Spain and raised in Newport Beach, California. He attended Corona del Mar High School, becoming Class President in his senior year and finishing with a 4.0 GPA and as a 4¬year Varsity tennis letterman.
He moved to La Jolla, California to attend the University of California, San Diego and majored in Political Science with emphasis in International Relations. While simultaneously completing the rigorous science classes required for dental school, Sam was recognized for his academic achievements in Political Science and immersed himself in community activities by joining the Alpha Phi Omega community service fraternity, taking part in numerous events to help the less fortunate.
Sam next traveled to Boston, earning his DMD degree at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. While at Tufts, Sam had the honor of being elected Class President for each of his 4 years. This position was tremendously gratifying and taught him valuable lessons in time management and leadership. His experiences at Tufts culminated with the honor of addressing his peers at Commencement and have continued with lifelong friendships with faculty and classmates.
Dr. Shamardi trained for his Periodontal certificate at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Periodontal Program. During this training, he had extensive nonsurgical and surgical experience for procedures such as sinus lifts, implants, mucogingival surgery, crown lengthening, osseous and guided bone and tissue regeneration. Additionally, the exposure to the unique Periodontal Prosthesis program has allowed him to better understand the restorative aspect of the profession and the importance of proper treatment planning. Having graduated in 2010, Dr. Shamardi returned to California, spending one year working in multiple practices and becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, the highest honor in his field. He then returned to Boston in July 2011 and has since been working full time and teaching part time as a Clinical Instructor, Harvard school of Dental Medicine, Division of Periodontics.
In his spare time, Dr. Shamardi enjoys to travel extensively and play multiple sports while following his favorite soccer club Real Madrid. He is fluent in three languages and still enjoys following current affairs and politics.
